Marangga Pearl Shell black dangling earrings

Marangga is part of the megalithic era, a precious metal valuable for the Sumba people in Sumba Island. It is made of a twisted metal sheet with a broadened end – forming a shape of an axe. The Marangga is a kind of heirloom objects and kept through time, used as earrings or as a pendant and believed to be a protector for the wearer. This strong history and meaning triggered us to re-create Marangga from wire art and embellished with stones or pearls to enhance the exquisiteness.
